About EE-Usk in Oban
With views over Oban Bay to the islands of Kerrera and Mull, Ee-Usk sits on the water’s edge of the North Pier, in the very heart of Oban.
Ee-Usk is a stylish and contemporary restaurant, that has been designed to take full advantage of its coastal surroundings. Ee-Usk means 'Fish' (Phonetic Gaelic), and fish is what we are famous for. We aim to bring our incredible local catches and serve them impeccably fresh to your table. All of our shellfish is locally caught and delivered fresh to Ee-Usk, with the majority of our wet fish being caught in nearby waters too.
The MacLeod family have been operating local seafood restaurants for over 20 years. We believe that on the west coast of Scotland we have the finest produce in the world, and for this reason we serve our dishes as simply cooked as possible. Our Suppliers
Ee-Usk has access to fantastic, fresh produce.
Below we list the names of our fishermen and the waters where they fish.
Our oysters are grown from seed by Judith Vajk on the shores of Loch Creran. Her Pacific oysters are graded according to weight. Ours are 75g minimum and at least 3 years old. Judith has a passion for her livestock and is rightly proud of her fantastic product.
Langoustines, courtesy of Ian Stewart of Fort William, are caught in the waters and sea lochs surrounding Oban and the nearby islands. Thankfully, they work seven days a week in the summer, sometimes in dreadful weather, to deliver outstanding local produce.
Our crabs & lobsters are harvested around the rocky coastline of the island of Luing by Neil MacQueen and his family on a daily basis. Neil selects his finest examples for us and delivers them live to our Oban kitchen.
Our native Blue Mussels are farmed in the beautiful waters of Loch Leven by James MacLean of Silver Sea Fish. James has been supplying delicious mussels to Ee-Usk for over 18 years.
Our scallops are supplied by Bill Langford of Mull. Known as some of the best in the world, the scallops arrive fresh and delicious, infused with the flavours of clean Scottish waters.
Our white fish like halibut, turbot, brill, lemon sole, hake, John Dory and plaice is sourced through various agents who are as passionate as we are about provenance and quality.
Our award winning Smoked Salmon and Smoked Trout are supplied by Ruari Murray at Ford on Loch Awe. Murray takes
great pride in their smokehouse, which is shown in their high quality products.
We hope this gives you an insight of how passionate we are about the local product we serve at Ee-Usk.
